Thats right folks I am back. The new job is a dragon and I am six months itching for a challenge. So besides switching sleep schedules, wearing church clothes to work, and thinking about things in a totally new way, it has been a breeze. :)

Got a light mix of music starting up with some good ole Irish Folk.
The flowing into some fattastic tunes to kick down to.

I am uber pleased with the tunes for this show. I have been marinating in them for a couple days while I tried to make time to put this show together.

Speaking of shows, expect a shift in episode releases. I am aiming to release on Wed, Fri, Sun nights. My Monday and Tuesday nights are packed for the forseeable future. I thought of cutting back to just 2 episodes but to be honest I need a certain amount of mommentum and that is just not quite enough. Of course I am saying this after taking a nearly 2 week break.

It feels good to be back. Thank you for the e-mails, and encouragement!

By the way the Showbill below is provided by a code snippet at the Grainan site. Podsafe artists you got to get into doing this. This is the best marketing idea I have seen in a long time!

Have a kicking electronica show to start this week off. These guys are out of Colorado playing in the Denver/Boulder area. Thank you Sexy Kellie for hooking me up with these guys!

Derick Disterhoft, DJ Seditionist, and partner Jon Disterhoft, DJ Exigent. Website and company is www.lunareclipserecordings.com, music on the dark side, specializing in trance and house, and all their subgenres.

These guys really have it together. Not only are they looking at producing great music of their own they are making this into a label for like minded musicians.

These have seen the future and are getting out there on the cutting edge. This is what Podcasting was made to support and I cannot speak highly enough of guys and gals willing to go hang it all out there to improve the way things are.

Episode 50

Regional Singer/Song Writer Show.

Yeah I know about freaking time. Ladies my utmost apologies that I was not more prompt. But I literally could not sleep until I got this out there. So here I am, o' dark 30 with not even a mouse stiring in the house. Well there had better not be a mouse.

I have some concerns about the enhanced feed that I need feedback from the artists on. Should I chapter just the tracks to make navigating the music in my Podcast easier or include my commentary? I don't want an artist to feel like they are getting used or abused! So your input is vital.

Despite my love of hardcore, punk and metal. I always boomerang back to my folk, singer/songwriter roots. My Ma tells stories of my listening to Simon and Garfunkles "The Boxer" over and over on vinyl. Pretty much says it all.

The artists that have graciously allowed me to play their cuts is Ali Gray and Katy Wehr. Both are not only beautiful women, but talents songerwriters and vocalists. In the regional music format that I have followed in the past. There is three tracks from each. I feel that these tracks really show off these ladies talents very well.

Please e-mail the artists! Let them know that you heard them here on Wind from the Plains. Check their sites to see when and where they are playing and grab a live show if you possibly can.

I am honored and pleased to have been able to play this music. I hope in hearing it you get the same vibes I have.

Last week was a podcastering nightmare. At some point you have to step back, reevaluate and then act. For me this meant tearing apart Episode 49 and rebuilding it twice because of technical difficulty. When a 3rd issue was found as I proofed the episode I made the call to scrap it entirely. I do apologize for the week long break. Hopefully it is over.

I am back on GarageBand, got some annoying bugs worked out. Those of you on iTunes will be getting a special treat as I will be putting this episode out on the feed as enhanced.
So I have been trying to put together a Top 10, then a Top 5 list of things I find appealing in a woman. To be honest it has been a sucky hard task. So this is my v.3 "What I find Hot in a Woman - Everything". Other than the top 5 they are in no particular order and may or may not be required. This is a really interesting exercise ... I strongly recommend it to everyone.

THE LIST
1. Very Similar Faith (i.e. reformed Protestant vs. "Christian" in general)
2. Strong Convictions
3. Likes Motorcycles
4. Has Traveled over 1000 miles away from her home town
5. Tattoos = Yummy
6. Played in the surf
7. Spunky
8. Red or Auburn hair is really hot
9. Irish, Icelandic, Italian, accents are awesome
10. Doesn't Shop at The Gap
11. Independent
12. Not Clingy
13. Not Blonde (Unless from Iceland)
14. Thinks Cosmo is a great way to create discontentment
15. Not a Picky Eater
16. Thinks Sailing sounds like fun
17. Does not fake n' bake
18. Freckles ... mmmmmmmmmm ... freckles
19. Foreign Food = Adventure
20. Easy Going
21. Has Read at least 2 of the following: "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Mere Christianity", "Big Two Hearted River", "How Now Shall We Live", "The Hobbit", "The Narnia Chronicles", "Confederacy of Dunces", "Zarthustra", "Ta Tao Ching", "Pilgrim's Progress", "Great Expectations", "Climb", "K2: A Terrible and Savage Mountain", "Wild at Heart", "Captivating", "Dubliners".
22. Thinks the music played on Clear Channel Stations sucks so bad it is not

worth listening to.
23. Adaptable
24. Social Status is a tool, not a goal
25. Knows what vision is
26. Has worn slippers in public
27. Can name one podsafe band or musician
28. Can quote the bible (doesn't have to be chapter and verse, but can recall

passages)
29. Not afraid to permanently move away from her parents region
30. Thinks living overseas would be wicked cool
31. Sees plans as more fluid than concrete

Having completed the list a number of things are apparent to me. First, I am obviously afraid of periods. Second, this list says as much about me as it does the type of woman I am looking for. Third, it really bothers me to have ended on a number that is not divisible by 5. Hope you guys dug the music for this episode. thought it would be good to pull away from the hard core / punk for a bit.

This week has been a pain in the butt. So in a reflection of my frustrations I have a hard rock show for you all. This is a cool show with more voicemail and wicked cool bands. There is some new things. On the home site of this podcast you will find a link to the iTunes music store to directly subscribe. I have been making a few behind the scenes changes to better manage the music I am sharing. While repeating a song now and then is not an all bad deal I have enough episodes out there now that I can't really keep track in my head. So I have a few things developed to help me manage the music a little better.

Due to technical difficulties this episode was delayed by close to 20 hours. Instead of waiting for resolution I am going a head and manually publishing this post. I use www.audioblog.com to manage the tons of audio files that with Podcast generates. There is currently an issue between Squaresoft (where this site resides and is developed with) and Audioblog (the in browser player and download link). Until that is resolved, no direct download link or pretty in browser player. However if you copy and paste - http://jutecht.audioblog.com/rss/windfromtheplains.xml into iTunes or whatever program that you use to manage your podcasts you will get this episode and all future episodes.

This podcast is once again carried by the iTunes music store and has much better presentation in the store itself.

As for the show it is a fantastic mix of downtempo tunes to start your week with. It says a lot when I have gone back to relisten to the tracks 4-5 times before the show is even published. I hope that you dig it as much as I have.

Hey three days and three episodes, what do you know? This is by far my longest episode to date but the vibe and the effort was there so I felt like seizing the moment and running with it.

The music for this episode is definitely a little mellower and has a strong sense of the singer/songwriter to it. I love hardcore music but somedays it just is not where it is at. I think the length of this episode is really because every time I thought I had enough I would find another great song.

I hope these tracks and my sub-par antics are enough to ward way any mid-winter blues you may be fighting with.
